The Villa, on a hillside, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, is well equipped, comfortably furnished, and sleeps up to six. The a view has been described as ‘'like sitting on the deck of an ocean liner’. There are some steps up from the parking area to the entrance leading to the main living area which is all on one level. This comprises of open plan lounge with satellite TV, radio, stereo, VCR, DVD and a ceiling fan. Next is a free area in front of a log burner then the dining area which is adjacent to the kitchen. We have just re-built and re-furbished the kitchen with a new extra wide window to make the most of the view. The kitchen has all new equipment comprising of an oven with Halogen hobs, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. The upper terrace is accessed from here.
Two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with twin beds have fitted ceiling fans and fitted wardrobes. There is a separate bathroom/shower/toilet, which we have completely refitted and modernised.
The studio flat is below the main accommodation. It has a double bed, en suite shower and toilet. Included are microwave, kettle and chiller.  It is completely self contained with a separate entrance and has open access over the pool area via French doors and its own terrace. Because of this it is suitable only for adults and older teenagers. The flat is never let seperately.
Gardens surround the villa and each area has its own distinct characteristics.
Walking up to the entrance there is a desert feel with cacti and succulents in a rock garden setting. Above and behind the entrance are more cacti and succulents as well as young mango trees.
The top terrace, which has an outdoor table and chairs, is accessed from the main living area and is partly covered. The sliding window in the kitchen provides serving access as well as a wide tiled shelf with high stools. It has a lockable gate at the top of the stairs to allow supervised access to the pool for younger children.
Steps lead down from here to the middle terrace and gardens for the third bedroom and also the large pool terrace  and garden which has a built in barbecue and two shaded seating areas with table and benches; 6 sun loungers and 6 outdoor chairs. The formal seated area is shaded by a large  palm tree. There is also a pool-side shower. The pool is 7m x 4m. Around and beyond the poolside there are mature gardens (with its own table and chairs) which include palm trees and exotic shrubs and cycads, jacaranda, hibiscus, prickly pears, bougainvillea, clementine, lemon, orange tree, pomegranate, banana and sisal.
The stepped terrace This is below the pool area. To improve the gardens we are introducing custard apples, mangoes, paw paws (papayas), sharon fruit and other trees in and amongst the palms.
All linen and towels are provided except beach towels. Property is cleaned on day of arrival.  If you are staying more than a week and require a towel and linen change, this can be provided as an extra service through our agents in Salobrena at your own expense.  No pets or smoking allowed.
Internet: We do not have a phone or internet connection, as we prefer peace!

Skiing (caters for range—beginner to more experienced) up to end April only minutes drive away in the Sierra Nevada; underground parking, lifts into ski village, restaurants, hotels/hire shops.
Golf can be played at the 9 hole course between Salobrena and Motril called Los Moriscos. The nearest 18 hole course is a 40 minute drive away at Torre del Mar called La Bavaria.

The night sky: Facing due South the villa provides the perfect opportunity for some casual Astronomy, and no need for three layers of clothing and mittens!

Airports: Malaga, approximately 55 minutes drive away by Autovia, the exit, onto the N340 coast road is only 10 minutes from the villa. Almeria is 2 hours away and Granada an hour. However, please allow plenty of time for flights in the event of  traffic jams, especially through Malaga.
Use of car is essential.
Salobrena with its Moorish castle and restaurants, shops and beaches are a 5 mile ride away.  From the villa you can see a small cove and beach.  During the summer there is a restaurant/bar and can be reached by car in a few minutes.  Almunecar (with its tapas bars) is 15 minutes drive, Motril (hypermarket) is 10 minutes drive and Granada with the fabulous Alhambra only an hour away.  Close by are the Alpujarras and Lecrin Valley.

One of the few places in Europe where you can sunbathe and ski on the same day
